Why We Made It
Fragrance-free baby butter for newborn and sensitive skin
First Touch is a concentrated, water-free botanical baby butter created to moisturize and soften delicate newborn and sensitive skin. Cocoa, mango and shea butters blend with botanical oils in a silky formula that melts on contact, without added fragrance.
First Touch was created for the very beginning, when your baby’s skin and sensory world are still brand new.
Its rich botanical formula was inspired by vernix, the creamy coating that protects a baby’s skin before birth. First Touch continues that idea of simple, concentrated care with a silky blend of botanical butters and oils chosen to moisturize, soften and support delicate newborn skin.
Silky moisture for everyday care and gentle touch
The texture matters. First Touch melts as soon as it meets the skin, spreading easily with very little drag before sinking in and leaving a soft, silky finish. That gentle glide makes it beautiful for the slow, repetitive touch that already happens naturally while dressing, changing, bathing and holding a baby.
And there is no added scent.
A newborn is already learning the smell of your skin, your milk, your clothes and the people who hold them. I did not want skincare to cover those familiar sensory cues with another fragrance. First Touch stays quiet so touch, warmth and the natural scent of the person caring for your baby can remain at the centre of the experience.
This is neurosomatic skincare at its simplest. Instead of adding another sensory layer, First Touch supports the skin while leaving space for what is already there: warmth, familiar touch and connection.
Made fresh in small batches and formulated by a former nurse and certified aromatherapist.
More about this formula
- THE DETAILS
A newborn’s sensory system is still developing, and their world is already full of new sounds, light, touch and smells. At the same time, the natural scent of the people caring for them is becoming familiar. First Touch is intentionally unscented so skincare does not add another fragrance between your baby and the bodies they spend so much time close to. The butter still provides a rich sensory experience through its silky texture and touch, while allowing your own familiar scent to remain part of the moment.
Vernix is the creamy coating that covers and protects a baby’s skin before birth. I was fascinated by the simplicity of it: rich, protective and perfectly suited to the skin of a new baby. First Touch was created from that inspiration. It is a concentrated, water-free botanical butter designed to melt easily over delicate skin and leave it soft, smooth and deeply moisturized. It is not meant to reproduce vernix. It carries forward the idea behind it: simple, rich care for skin at the very beginning. That last sentence keeps your “next best thing to vernix” story alive without implying the product is biologically equivalent to vernix.
Yes. First Touch was created for newborn skin, but its unscented, concentrated formula also makes it beautiful for a mother’s dry hands, body and other areas that need simple moisture without added scent. Sharing the same unscented butter also keeps the sensory environment between you uncomplicated in those earliest weeks, when your baby spends so much time against your skin. It is one more way to keep early care simple: one gentle formula, two bodies, and nothing extra added between them.
